Academics at Harley

Upper School
Harley is an independent school committed to academic excellence from Nursery—Grade 12. While involving students in a diverse and close-knit community, we seek to nurture individual strengths.

Harley fosters a spirit of personal excellence. Students challenge themselves rather than compete with others. There is no ranking system or honor roll, but our rigorous academic programs and exceptional fine arts curriculum are coupled with unique offerings (hospice, glass making, boat building, organic farming, international service learning, chess, robotics), a commitment to community service, the creative process and a nurturing environment for students. The School is committed to diversity and the education of students for global citizenship.

Students in grades Nursery through Grade 6 receive written evaluations throughout the year. From Grade 7 on, a student receives both written evaluations and traditional grades. Our student to teacher ratio is 7:1. Students find comfort-and thrive-in this safe, supportive, and challenging environment.
