The Harley Fund is the School's annual fundraising drive that runs July 1-June 30 of every school year. Funds collected for the Harley Fund are used to support the students, faculty and facilities. The Harley Fund is a necessity and we ask every member of the Harley Community to pull together to support the School.
One way you can give to The Harley Fund and help us to build a strong foundation for the School as we head toward our centennial celebration is by joining The Harley Circle. Please read on to learn more about the impact your gift makes every year.
Why The Harley Fund is so important:
The Harley Fund underwrites 4% of Harley's operating budget. That means technology upgrades, faculty compensation, classroom upkeep and more
Harley provides almost $2,000,000 in financial aid to over 34% of its students
The gap between Harley tuition and what it actually costs to educate a child is $6,000
The Harley Fund makes possible:
- Successful daily operation of the School
- Individual attention: Average student/teacher ratio is 8 to 1
- Socioeconomic diversity
- The ability to retain devoted faculty: The average faculty member has been at Harley for 17 years
- A diverse student body representing 30 towns and cities, 5 counties and 3 countries
- State of the art facilities such as our new Science Wing, Academic Center and Center for Visual Arts
- Special Programs and Clubs unique to Harley like Harley Hospice, Chess Club, the Organic Garden, glass making
Why your participation is important:
We can never thank our contributors enough for supporting Harley and Joy in Learning. Your participation in the Harley Fund is essential to the success of the school. Your gift not only supports the students and daily operations in that given school year, but, when our alumni and families are unified, it also represents your belief in Harley's mission.
There are many ways you can contribute to the success of Harley through The Harley Fund:
Make a Five-Year Pledge to The Harley School Consistency in giving is so important to the long-term success of Harley. Consider making this year’s gift amount annually for the next five years.
Join The Harley Circle The Harley School invites you to become a charter member of The Harley Circle, a giving society that supports the longstanding belief in Harley’s vision and core values. As a member of The Harley Circle, your support honors the leadership of the School’s founders and helps our students become passionate, civic-minded learners.
Your philanthropic support can help the School realize its vision for the future.
A five-year commitment of $1,000 or greater annually to The Harley Fund provides membership into The Harley Circle. Charter membership is open until December 2010.
*An incentive to join The Harley Circle: If you are interested in owning some fine art, by joining the Harley Circle, you are eligible to receive a dollar-for-dollar match on artwork on display at ARTISANworks. An annual gift to the 2009-2010 Harley Fund Help us increase community participation in The Harley Fund and consider making a gift this year. All gifts received by June 30 will be counted toward this year's Harley Fund drive. Gifts of all sizes truly make a difference!
All Harley Circle members and donors with a combined gift of $2,000 or more to Harley over the school year are invited to the Harley Circle Celebration on the first Thursday in December.
The first Harley Circle Celebration was in 2009, created to recognize our highest level of donors to the Harley School's Harley Fund. That evening, the Sands-Stern family was awarded the first ever Sands-Stern Award for Philanthropy in celebration of their tremendous lifetime giving to the School. The Green and White Dinner, celebrated every August at the New York Wine and Culinary since 2006, has been replaced by this special Harley Circle evening. This year's Harley Circle event will be hosted by Harley parent and trustee, Arunas Chesonis on December 2.
Your support has a direct impact on financial aid, faculty support and strength in programs. Contact Tonya Taylor, Director of Development at 585-442-1770 ext. 3031 or ttaylor@harleyschool.org for more details.
