Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream
Adapted by Lindsay Price

William Shakespeare wrote the comedy, A Midsummer Night’s Dream in 1595/96. It is a delightful tale of the marriage of the Duke of Athens and the surrounding events. There are four young teens who love each other, or don’t love each other, or change their minds about who they like (sound familiar?). A group of rude mechanicals (town merchants) prepare a play to perform at the Duke’s wedding. Oberon, king of the fairies, and Robin, his puck, put spells on the young teens as they run around the forest. It is a funny, confusing, tale of love and magic, set in an enchanted forest. The characters are left asking themselves if it was all a dream!
