Celebrating Harley’s Passion and Purpose
Lives of Great Purpose Campaign Video (2 min)
The Lives of Great Purpose Campaign grew out of Harley’s latest strategic plan, which prioritized improving compensation for our faculty, increasing engagement of alumni, parents and the Greater Rochester community, as well as improving the school’s financial sustainability through increased philanthropy.
We look forward to celebrating the Lives of Great Purpose Campaign completion on October 21 with our campaign donors.
For more information, please contact Director of Development Whitney Brice, at email@example.com
If you made a donation in the past 6 years, you will be receiving a Save the Date email and invitation in the mail.
As the largest fundraising campaign in the history of The Harley School, the Lives of Great Purpose Campaign includes the following goals:
Supporting our teachers through increased compensation.
Announcing the Sands Challenge
In March 2018, the Harley School announced the largest gift in the history of the school, $3 million from the Sands Family Foundation solely for faculty compensation. The Harley community is now called upon to give an additional $1 million to further improve teacher salaries. The Sands Family Foundation has generously offered to match those dollars making the total increase for faculty compensation $5 million.

Environments for Learning
The Lives of Great Purpose Campaign has included the following new spaces:
- Peckham Wellness Center
- Winslow Natural Playground & Outdoor Learning Center
- Moore/Brown Center for Creative Media
Naming opportunities continue to be available.
Giving through the Harley Fund is an important part of the Lives of Great Purpose Campaign because unrestricted gifts each year fund programs, equipment and professional development opportunities that would not otherwise be possible. As a private school, Harley does not receive government support, so philanthropy is there to make “better possible” every day for our students. Leadership donors to the Harley Fund are recognized through the Harley Circle society for their unrestricted donations of $1,000 or more each year to support the greatest needs of the school.
