Dear Members of the Harley Community,
As the end of summer nears and the 2024-25 school year commences, we want to provide a brief update on the Head of School search process.
After learning about our school and mission last spring through community surveys, on campus meetings, and Zoom meetings, our search partners at DRG developed a Head of School Position Statement (posted on Harley’s website) which they used to recruit candidates leading up to the August 30 application deadline. They spent the summer reaching out to candidates, attracting them to the search, and conducting preliminary interviews.
We are heartened, but not surprised, that interest in the position is strong: 43 candidates have been interviewed from a pool of over 90 prospects. The Search Committee will meet in mid-September to select which candidates to move forward for semifinalist Zoom interviews.
From there, the Committee will invite the finalist candidates to campus for introductions to the Harley community and a series of presentations and interviews. The on-campus visit details will be shared once we have coordinated the visits with the finalists. We plan to host them on October 1-2, 7-8, and 9-10.
This is an exciting time for Harley. Community engagement in this process is critical, as the collective strength of Harley comes from the contributions of each member. We hope you will participate as we work through the process of naming our new leader this fall.
Our thanks go to Transitional Head of School Dr. Kathryn Kaiser, Harley employees, and the Search Committee for their commitment and efforts during this time of transition.
On behalf of the Search Committee,
Dena Levy P ’24 and Chrissy Bennett-West P ’30,
Head of School Search Co-Chairs
