As Lizzy T., a Grade 12 student at The Harley School, takes a nostalgic glance back at her educational journey that began in kindergarten; she reflects on the unique benefits of attending an N-12 school. Lizzy shares fond memories of connecting with older students, riding the bus with them, and experiencing those heartwarming moments of acknowledgment in the hallways.

The sense of community at Harley, according to Lizzy, extends beyond the academic realm. Drawing from her friends’ experiences at Harley Day camp, she emphasizes the joy and connection derived from younger kids waving to familiar faces. For Lizzy, witnessing children she babysat for in the hallways creates delightful moments of connection.

Describing the tightly-knit community she and her friends have cultivated, Lizzy highlights the energy, honesty, and safety that characterize their shared spaces. She underscores the strong support system that empowers them to have fun and be there for each other during challenging times.

The vibrancy of Harley’s Upper School becomes apparent as Lizzy describes the active and passionate student body. Engaged in numerous clubs, sports, student council, and artistic pursuits, Lizzy praises the unwavering support from both peers and teachers. The sense of collaboration is highlighted, with teachers actively involved in supporting student-led initiatives, such as the Beyond Soup project.

In Lizzy’s reflection, The Harley School emerges as more than an academic institution. It is a community that fosters connections, supports personal growth, and encourages students to embrace their passions while providing a safety net for exploration and self-discovery. As Lizzy prepares to embark on the next chapter of her life, she carries with her not just knowledge gained in the classroom but a wealth of experiences and a strong sense of community from her years at Harley.
