HAC Athletics Update: New Volleyball Coach

Another big announcement from HAC Athletic Director, Mike Taillie (2022-present) and :

Dear Parents and Families,

HAC is thrilled to officially announce that Matt Marchaesi (Physical Education, 2024-present) has been named the next HAC Head Varsity Volleyball Coach for the HAC Wolves.

Many of you may already know Coach Marchaesi through his leadership as a Physical Education teacher and Department Chair at The Harley School. Over the past two years, he has also been a vital part of our coaching staff as the Head Modified Coach, where his passion for the game and dedication to our student-athletes have been on full display.

This coming fall will mark Coach Marchaesi’s 15th season coaching interscholastic volleyball. He brings a wealth of experience and a proven record of success to our volleyball program. Previously, Coach Marchaesi served as the Head Girls Varsity Volleyball Coach at Midlakes for 4 years and at Churchville-Chili for 3 years. He also spent 5 years as the JV Head Coach at Greece Athena.

Throughout his coaching career, Coach Marchaesi has led multiple teams to sectional semifinal appearances and has made two sectional finals appearances. In 2022, his team captured the Class C1 Sectional Championship, and in 2023 he was selected as the Class B Coach of the Year.

Beyond the wins, Coach Marchaesi is a builder of culture. He is deeply committed to developing student-athletes both on and off the court, ensuring our players grow as leaders and teammates. His transition to the Varsity role ensures a seamless continuity for our program.

His leadership, passion for the game, and dedication to building a competitive and positive team culture make him an outstanding fit to lead our volleyball program—and we are very excited for the future of the volleyball program under his leadership.

Please join us in congratulating and welcoming Coach Marchaesi as we look forward to a successful season ahead.

Honoring a Coach Colosimo’s Legacy

Coach Marchaesi steps into this role following the incredible 26-year tenure of Coach Amy Colosimo P ’23, ’23. Amy’s impact on our community is immeasurable, and she leaves behind a legacy of excellence and mentorship that has shaped generations of HAC athletes. As a dear friend and colleague, I am personally grateful for her years of service. We look forward to sharing a special tribute to Coach Colosimo’s coaching legacy with the community later this school year.

Please join us also in congratulating Coach Marchaesi. We are incredibly excited for this next chapter of HAC Volleyball and look forward to seeing our Wolves back on the court!

Go Wolves!

Sincerely,

Michael Taillie and Cory Lamberton (HAC Assistant Athletic Director, AC)
