The Harley Experience: Joyful Rigor & Discovery

Become What Thou Art

At The Harley School, education is an active journey of self-discovery. From Nursery through Grade 12, our student-centered program fosters the curiosity, creativity, and confidence students need to think independently and act courageously. We empower students to become inquisitive problem-solvers and compassionate citizens who embrace new perspectives, value empathy, and navigate the world with purpose.

Joyful Rigor & Hands-On Academics

Our academic program is purposefully designed to cultivate critical thinking, emotional intelligence, and genuine understanding. Our curriculum is project and experiential learning based, where students are encouraged to take intellectual risks, learn from mistakes, and build resilience.

Supported by dedicated faculty and small class sizes (a 7:1 student-to-teacher ratio), Harley students develop both strong academic mastery and the essential skills needed to navigate an ever-changing world.

Signature Programs

Nursery three-year-olds through Grade 12 students engage in immersive, real-world experiences.

The Lower School

Twoville Post Office: Grade 2 postal workers build real-world math, literacy, and design skills by running a campus-wide post office; designing stamps, sorting mail, and managing delivery routes.

Harlic Garlic: Grade 3 entrepreneurs build foundational business, sustainability, and science skills by planting, harvesting, marketing, and selling organic garlic grown on our micro-farm.

Middle School

Capstones: Partnering with a faculty mentor, students learn to establish goals, meet strict deadlines, navigate setbacks, adjust their plans based on ongoing progress, and publicly present their findings. These skills form the foundation for student-driven work, resulting in past Capstones as varied as organizing a non-profit fundraiser, producing an original podcast, writing a children's book, or designing a Lower School science lesson.

Discovery Blocks: Students choose from dynamic, hands-on activities that change each trimester. Options include: Financial Literacy, Sports and Movement, 2D Art Exploration, and Comic Book Creation.

Upper School

Hospice Program: Seniors have the opportunity to participate in a groundbreaking, compassionate care program, learning to be fully present with others while offering purposeful, non-judgmental support to hospice patients in our community.

NASA Hunch: Teams of students participate in this hands-on program where students design and build real-world solutions for astronauts and space exploration. Harley students have been selected to attend prestigious events such as NASA's Human Research Program Investigators' Workshop (HRP IWS) and Johnson Space Center presentations.

Community Time: During Community Time, students gather for student-led clubs and extracurriculars, connect one-on-one with teachers, meet for grade-level gatherings, and come together for school-wide assemblies. Club options include: Student Council, Fashion & Design, Film Analysis, Jazz Band, KEY Club, and Envirothon.

Whether exploring hands-on sustainability in our living laboratory, engaging in deep academic inquiry, or serving others, a Harley education prepares students not just for college, but to make a meaningful impact in the world.
